Jury Decision

The winners of the XI edition of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award have been announced today (6th of May) in press conference


In Dubai, in the Dubai Municipality building, at 11:00 a.m. on the 29th of April, 2009, the final Jury meeting of the ThysssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award was held, under the Presidency of Javier del Pozo Portillo, with the following architects present: Dalila ElKerdany, Nabil Gholam, Imad Hassan, Rafael de la Hoz, Josep Lluis Mateo, Tarek Naga, Antonio Ortiz; With the architect of the Dubai Municipality, Roxy Binno, acting as Secretary of the Jury. Cino Zucchi and Alfonso Vegara were not able to attend the final meeting. Jaime Duro represented the UIA during the entire Jury Process.

The Dubai Frame wins the First Prize at the XI ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award

An international jury selected the winning ideas from among 926 design proposals for a Tall Emblem Structure for Dubai’s Za’abeel Park. ThyssenKrupp Elevator in partnership with the Dubai Municipality and under the auspices of the International Union of Architects is proud to announce the winners of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award 2009.

4,651 architects from 108 countries competing in the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award

The registration process for the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award has confirmed the outstanding interest in this competition to propose a new Tall Emblem Structure in Za’abeel Park, to symbolize the new face of Dubai, while promoting tourism and other recreational, scientific and cultural activities. A total of 4,651 architects in 2,967 teams, from 108 countries, have been qualified to compete in this year’s award, based on the requirements of the competition brief.
