ThyssenKrupp Elevator Logistics Center Opened in Móstoles Technology Park (Madrid)

Today marked the official opening of the new ThyssenKrupp Elevator Logistics Center in Móstoles Technology Park in Móstoles, Madrid, a project corresponding to the second phase of the industrial complex.

Attended by leading figures from the worlds of politics and business, the official ceremony was framed within the “Journey to Innovation”, a series of events held in an area specifically set up for this purpose, in which ThyssenKrupp Elevator shows how their solutions, services and innovations make the world more accessible for everyone.

In the words of Ramón Sotomayor, President of ThyssenKrupp Elevator for Southern Europe, Africa and the Middle East, “Our Journey to the Center of Innovation and the official opening itself are activities that enable us to show that we are a technology company, that with our engineering knowledge and our great capacity for innovation, we can, together with our customers, meet the challenges of the future, making the world more and more accessible.”

Surpassing 12,000 square meters in area and with a capacity to handle up to 15,000 elevators, the start-up of the Logistics Center means it will become the hub of elevator supply management, consolidation and delivery, as well as the epicenter for equipment intended for partial and total modernizations.

This phase of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator business project allows grouping production capacities together and facilitates a faster response to market needs in Spain and other countries where the equipment produced in the manufacturing center is exported. This production center stands out as an example of sustainable efficiency, not only inside the factory, but in the offices and R & D center as well.

In building the Logistics Center, the highest safety standards and criteria for functionality and efficiency have taken priority in the distribution, use and subsequent internal and external maintenance of the facilities. Furthermore, it was designed taking into account the special requirements of the elevator business in order to optimize space, storage conditions and the means for handling elevator equipment. All this will lead to greater competitiveness, improved service and maximum utilization of warehouse space, as well as decreasing the time required for storing the material and the time the material is stocked in the warehouse.
